Brazilian going nowhere in New year …

Barcelona have again stressed that Ronaldinho is not for sale following renewed speculation about the Brazilian's future.

Newspaper reports have claimed that Chelsea and Milan are ready to offer 70million in an attempt to sign the playmaker in January's transfer window.

Ronaldinho has endured a troubled start to the new season and was jeered by Barca fans during Sunday's 2-0 win over Almeria.

Club captain Carles Puyol has already jumped to his team-mate's defence, but it has not stopped media criticism of the player's performances.

But despite Ronaldinho's current problems, Barca are adamant that the club are not looking to cash in on the 27-year-old.

Club vice-president Ferran Soriano told La Vanguardia: "Ronaldinho is not for sale, neither in December, nor June.

"It's inevitable that he has some problems with his game, but we've never thought of selling him."

Meanwhile, Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida has played down rumours the club will make a big-money bid in the New Year.

Braida told Ona FM radio station: "This news is simply foolishness and we do not want to waste time on this subject."
